Ecclesiastes 3 sums up the thoughts and questions I've had over the past few months. God has a time for everything, and his time is best. But the question I've been stuck on is how do you know it's time? Time for the next season, or time to stay in the current season? Time to make a change, or time to wait?

I've asked advice from a few friends on this topic and appreciate the wisdom and insight they have shared:

***Sometimes the changing of "seasons" is not in our control, the time for the next thing arrives without us taking action or choosing something.

***Sometimes God speaks to us through the people in our lives. Their advice can prompt us to make active decisions about our future or where God is leading us.

***We need to stay in prayer and make sure that if we are asking God for a certain thing that we are not too set on what we desire, but rather on God's will. Sometimes what he has for us is better than what we think we want.

Because we trust the character and nature of God, we can rest knowing that both his plan and his timing are lovingly revealed to us as he sees fit. I pray that as we seek out opportunities and consider the future, we would discern with wisdom and that we could feel purpose and presence of God wherever he has placed us.
