Journal - February 27, 2023

Life can be complicated. It seems as though I'm repeatedly learning (or supposed to be learning) the lesson of taking one day at a time. It's interesting how seasons of life can either change too quickly, or can go on for what seems to be way too long. 

One downfall of living in the same place that you work, is that you can't necessarily get away or have much privacy. I have yet to become an expert at setting and practicing boundaries. 

Earlier this month, my parents and two of my brothers were able to visit me here for the first time. It was a great week together, sharing my life and love for Haiti with them.

At the same time my family was here, a construction team from Oregon came. It was good to see so many familiar faces!

Last week, one of our staff members unexpectedly lost his wife. It has really hit us hard as a group, as we are reminded of the fact that sometimes we face circumstances that we would not choose and situations that we may never know the answer to.
