Journal - May 12, 2022
April was a rainy month. Bringing us cool(er) nights and vibrant vegetation. We have had a couple teams the last few weeks, so I have been busy preparing for those as well as working with them while they are here. I spent a week and a half in Bonne Fin and am now back to Cayes.
Kervens and I are enjoying jalapenos, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce from our raised bed garden. We will see how long we can keep everything alive as we go into the hotter months.
While in Bonne Fin I was able to help harvest beans from a garden we had planted. I was also able to go to the local market, watch Judson climb a coconut tree, and spend quality time with some good friends.
We had a couple fairly big earthquakes while I was in Bonne Fin. It's hard to explain but the panic is very real for those of us who lived through the August earthquake. It would seem that we would be used to them by now, as often as they happen, but that's not the case. As soon as you hear the rumble and feel the vibrating and unsteady ground, you want to run. You don't know if it will be over in 5 or 10 seconds or last a minute. Please continue to pray for us.
We also experienced the unexpected loss of one of our doctors at Hospital Lumiere. Prayers are appreciated for the family, hospital staff, and community dealing with this situation.

Found this quote in a book I was reading recently: "Faith is about doing. You are how you act, not just how you believe." We can claim to believe anything, but what do our actions have to say?
