Good and Evil
On the mission field in Haiti there is great clarity between light and darkness. The devil is very present and every day is a battle. Not to say that this is not a struggle in America, but there is a very different perspective here in Haiti. It's not easy to describe, but there are times when you can physically see and feel the devil at work.
But God is bigger and he tells us not to fear. By His great grace we can pass through the hardest and strangest situations. Through His compassion we can serve and love others. And because of His mercy we can rest in true peace.
As we see the hardest things and witness great poverty and oppressions, we can see how big God is and get a glimpse of what true hurt and need is. My understanding of our great God has grown so much over this past year. There are things I would never want to go through again, but those same things have opened my eyes and my heart to be able to truly witness His great love.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:1-2
