Journal - November 7, 2020

I have been in Southern Haiti since September 27, 2020 and it has been such a blessing and incredible experience. I've learned so many lessons and have felt like this was definitely a step God wanted me to take.

I'm constantly reminded that God never disappoints us. Even when it doesn't seem possible, He always comes through. I’ve been blessed to begin learning Creole and to have met some great Haitian and missionary friends. I'm finding joy in the little things like bright smiles from the kids, sunrises from the rooftop, and the passionate Haitian singing during church and devotions.

We had a conversation last night about truly knowing God, rather than just knowing of Him. About truly committing your life to His plan, rather than seeking what you want. About dedicating a large amount of time to focus on seeking Him, rather than making those things checklist items that often get cut short by things with no eternal value.

My prayer is that the love of Christ would dwell in me and pour from my heart as I build relationships here; relationships that will hopefully point others to the most important and eternal - One True Relationship.
