Journal - March 30, 2023

March has been a blur of activity as we hosted several visitors and were able to show them around southern Haiti. It is encouraging to have repeat visitors who faithfully support our ministry and lift us up in prayer daily.

We started the month praying for rain and after several dry and dusty weeks, God answered our prayers. People were forced to go extreme distances for water and having limited water makes life difficult to say the least.

I am thankful for the team I get to work with every day, and for the wisdom and love they continually share with me. Each day I learn something new about this culture and beautiful country. It can be exhausting or refreshing, depending on what kind of day it happens to be.

One thing I've been learning recently, is that when life seems to be tough or the future looks really uncertain, God is here today and promises to be here tomorrow as well. His promise is not based on my choices or on my failures. He is a God who loves us and wants us to bring our concerns and worries to him. What would happen if I'd be instant in prayer, rather than letting these thoughts go crazy in my mind, causing long days and sleepless nights?

“It is great to be faced with the impossible, for nothing is impossible if one is meant to do it. Wisdom will be given, and strength. When the Lord leads, He always strengthens.”  Amy Carmichael
