Summer has arrived here with a lot of heat and humidity. It's not so bad until you try to sleep and realize that it's just not going to cool down.

Last week we went out and did some work on the far west side of the island. It took about 9 hours to get there, but was a beautiful drive. I enjoyed the spunk and bright smiles of the group of girls in the community.

We have a few teams coming in and out this month, and are thankful for that.

I wish I could capture and share all the elements of a Haitian church service here. But it's one of those things you have to experience in person. I always love Haitian church, but Sunday seemed extra special. A friend of mine did a great job leading the worship and after that the pastor read from Psalm 46 which is a favorite of mine. It was an uplifting weekend!

I wrote this several months ago after going through a really difficult situation and feeling like everything just seemed uphill and unending. God was faithful, and I pray we will use the pain for his glory.

Mountains in Heaven:

Will there be mountains in heaven?
Mountains I will want to climb?

Will there be valleys in heaven?
Valleys I will want to walk?

Oh what a peace there must be,
walking my Savior and me,

Strolling a valley, quiet and still,
Or climbing a rolling green hill.

Unaware of this life's pain, hurts, and fears,
Free from suffering and tears.

Filled with the presence of my Father,
I'd be no place rather.

Only beauty, joy, and peace
In this mountainous land I'll call my home.
